The Students of The Ijoba Shule, are trying to raise money to send one student and a chaperone to the Council of Independent Black Institutions (CIBI) International Science Exposition (www.cibi.org) in Hermanville, Mississippi. The expo is on April 23-24, 2010.

This year’s exposition theme is “Sustainable for Sovereignty.” Given the recent tragic events in Haiti, this theme is especially timely, efficacious and applicable to the Afrakan community in America- lest we forget New Orleans after the levee’s broke kwk (katha wa katha, Kiswahili for “and so on”). It is our hope that the student submissions will inspire us all to consciously and consistently think and act towards the achievement of sovereignty.

We need to raise funds for airfare, car rental, and hotel accommodations. Our goal is to raise $1,500.
