UJAMAA CARD - FAQs
1. What is UJAMAA?
UJAMAA is the fourth principle of Kwanzaa and is celebrated on the fourth day of the Kwanzaa celebration. UJAMAA stands for cooperative economics and calls for us to build and maintain our own institutions and to profit from them collectively.
2. What are you raising funds for?
We are raising funds to purchase and maintain a building for our school.
3. How can I acquire the cards?
The cards are $10.00. You can e-mail us at ujamaacard@yahoo.com, call us at (215) 747-5737 or visit us at www.ijobashule.org and click the Ujamaa Card link.
4. How long does the offer last?
The card expires on November 22, 2008.
5. Where can I find information regarding the list of participating businesses?
This is our introductory year of providing the UJAMAA card. The current list of participating businesses can be found on our website. If you provide your e-mail address when you sign up, we will send you regular updates regarding the card and the businesses. We are still in the process of signing up participating businesses. All of the businesses that are asked to participate are black owned.
6. Can I recommend businesses that I would like to see added to our list of participating institutions?
Certainly! You can email or call us about businesses in which you are interested. We will approach them about becoming a participating institution. |
